Born in La Orotava in 1955, he gra-duated in Geography and History from the University of La Laguna. Photographically speaking, he is self-taught and has given courses on cinema and photography to students in secondary educarían. At the present time, he belongs to a the photographic groups "Arte-Facto" and "Infusión", and has partipated in an exhibition with the latter.

He belongs to the group Arte-facto, where he undertakes activities of an infernal nature, which complement his self-taught background. It is in this Biennal that he will exhibit for the first time.
JUAN M; FERNANDEZ Born ¡n Tegueste, Tenerife in 1968, he is a self-taught photographer, and, amongst his achievements, counts an individual showing of his work in his native village in 1991.

Born ín Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1960. A technician in Image and Sound, speciality, Produce of program-mes for televisión, She has carried out numerous courses and workshops, not only in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, but also in Barcelona and Las Palmas. She has been the winner of first prizes in various photographic competitions. Currently, she is participating in the project, "Santa Cruz, 500 Years".

 

JAVIER A. LABRADOR

27 years oíd and a gradúate in Chemical Science from the University of La Laguna. He ¡s a regular participan* in both regional and national photo-graphic competitions, where he has obtained numerous first prizes, such as "Navifoto 89", Salamanca 1990; "Titsa 91", "Títsa 92", in Santa Cruz de Tenerife 1991 and 1992. He has also tdken part in collective exhibtions and has been a photographic instructor iri both La Coruña and La Laguna and has partid pated in severa I photographic courses and workshops.

RICARDO RAMOS

Born in Árafo, Tenerife in 1964, he graduated in Applied Art, specializing in Photography, and continúes to combine his studies with numerous courses and workshops. He received a grant form the Centre of Photography in 1991, for his Atlántida Project. Currently, he forms part of a cinemato-graphic production team, Ríos Productions.

 

PEDRO A.RIVEROL

Born in Santa Cruz de La Palma in 1969, he currently works there as an independent photographer. In 1987, he began his studies in photography on his native island. From 1991 until the present time, he has been involved in the workshops Tarazona Foto and Fotogrffico Spectrum in Zaragoza. In 1988, he commenced his work at a professional level, as a graphic repórter for the magazine "Hespérides", at the Captaincy of the Gañanes and later, for the newspaper "La Gaceta de Canarias". In 1991-1992 he carried out work for the Aragón Pavilion at Expo-92. He is currently working free-lance for several publications and is cataloguing numerous artistic works.

 

NESTOR TORRENS

Born in La Orotava, Tenerife, in 1954, he is self-taught. He alternates photography with teaching, as a lecturer in Mathematics at the University of La Laguna. The following are most notable amongst his individual exhibitions: "Saltworks" Osuna Art Centre, La Laguna 1982; "Pieces" Ateneo of La Laguna, 1984; "A wide open sky" Casa de Cultura in Las Palmas 1986; "Saa dos Peiraos" Council of Vigo 1989; "Interiors-Exteriors" Fine Arts Centre, Madrid 1989; "Fotoglifos"University Hall of La Laguna, Tenerife 1991 and La Regenta Art Centre, Gran Canaria 1992; "The Uncomfortable Look" Fine Arts Centre, Santa Cruz de Tenerife 1992.
The following stand out amongst his collective exhibitions: "The Reinvention Of Landscape" Caixa de Barcelona Foundation 1988; "Photographic Creation in Spain 1968-1988" Cantini Museum, Marseille 1988; "Three Photographers" Radach Novaro Gallery Gran Canaria 1989; "Another Colour" Island Cultural Centre, Gran Canaria 1991; "In the line of shadow" Ten Spanish Photographers; "Since the end of the Empire: Nine Australian Photographers", Australia 1991; "The Spanish View", The Spanish Institute, New York 1992; "Creative Cañarían Photography" Fototeca Havanna, Cuba 1993. His work has been published in different circles since 1986.
